Finish time

Help. I have a project were a task is set finish to start. Its predecessor
finishes at 22/01/08 13:00. The task is set for 12 hours and rightly sets
the start time as 22/01/08 13:00. The finish time then changes to 23/01/08
13:00. I want this to be 23/01/08 01:00. I have tried changing the Task
Information > Advanced and calendar to 24hrs but it will not allow me to put
01:00. I have tried each calendar option, I have set the working day to
12hrs for a 07:00 to 19:00 finish. I have removed the link but still it does
not work. Does anyone have an idea or someone I could email it to try?
Thanks

Hi Woodi,

I've read through your post, and I think I understand.
You want different formatting of the time, but the date/time is
calculating correctly. Right?

If it is calculating correctly, you may just need to change the
regional settings on the pc for date / time from the control panel. I
ran into this on a project server implementation and it may be
correct.

Experience is something you have just after you needed it...

Hi Woodi2,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

If this is a one-off task, you could use elapsed time by entering a Duration
of 12eh. However, I suspect a mis-match of times. You might like to see FAQ
Item: 5. Default Working Hours and amend your project calendar. What
version of Project are you using?

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Thanks Mike, you guys are great. I'm a complete Novice with this stuff, self
taught on Excel and slowly venturing into Project. To answer your question,
I am on Office 2003.
