Firefox and Safari problems

I have just published www.sedonashapeshifters.com, which works fine with IE,
but not with Firefox or Safari browsers on a Mac. The hyperlinked buttons
don't work in either browser, bg music plays on the home page in Firefox but
not on Safari, and graphics on Safari are not the right size or in the right
location. What do I need to do to make these all compatible? I do have FP
set for both IE and Netscape compatibility, but what do I do for these other
browsers?

One thing that will help regarding links with some of the browsers; change
page and image names
from LEY%20LINES.htm to ley_lines.htm
from LEYLINES%202.jpg to leylines_2.jpg
from Sedona%20Shapeshifters.htm to sedona_shapeshifters.htm

The blank space is represented by %20. Upper case in image names are
sometimes a problem.
You have the same link for Shapeshifter and Elemental Dance.

You might also remove the height specification of 100% in the cell
properties.

Links, including the ViewCart button, doesn't work in Opera, Netscape, and
Firefox.
On the Shapeshifter.htm page the links for Add to Cart Button and View Cart
button are identical.

All work well in TheWorld and Avant browsers.

Your links are in text boxes. These links will only work in Internet
Explorer.
Remove the VML text boxes, and all will work in every browser.

Thanks for the reply.

Do I have to remove ALL VML text boxes, or only those with hyperlinks in
them? Some of my graphics/pictures are in text boxes so I can easily place
them anywhere on the page without text wrapping consideration.

Text boxes are rendered as poor quality .gif images in non-IE browsers.
Your .jpg images will probably look like rubbish if placed in a text
box. And if you have a style sheet linked to your page, the text box
may even render as an empty rectangle (though yours seem OK in that
respect).

What is the best way to place jpgs right where you want them on a page, say,
right next to but offset vertically from one another in a stair-step? If I
can't use text boxes to place objects freely, what is the legal and proper
way to do this? Can I use text boxes at all - even for text - and still have
cross-platform compatibility?

No. Text will be rendered as an image - and it usually looks horrible.
It will be inaccessible (users cannot adjust font-size so they can read
it).

For placing images, use tables, layers or floated divs (keep text out of
layers as much as possible - if the user changes the font size, the text
will overlap the next container below it. For your layout tables will
be complicated and I suspect layers will be the best choice.
