FirstName LastName or LastName, FirstName?

Hi

Is there a way in Exchange or Outlook to decide how names are displayed in
the Owner Property for Outlook Tasks?

We have an app that synchronizes with Outlook tasks. Out App uses FirstName
LastName as the format for Task ownership.

Some of our app users have Exchange or Outlook using First Name Last Name
but some also use LastName, First Name.

Is there a switch somewhere in Outlook or Exchange that we can read to find
out what format they are using? Otherwise our sync's don't match up.
