Fix for tab alignment problem?

There's a few threads on here discussing the problem with center tabs not working properly, stretching back a year or more. In one, someone says they spoke to Microsoft, who said it was a known issue and there is no workaround.

So...it's now nearly April 2009 - when is it going to get fixed? It makes PowerPoint unusable for me in the business in which I work, and, I suspect, more than a minor embarrassment for many other Mac Office users.

What seems to be the problem is that turning off the default bulleting
doesn't remove the Hanging Indent. Use either the Ruler markers or Format>
Paragraph to set the Before Text Indentation to 0 & remove the Hanging
Indent. See if that makes any difference.
