When I use the 2003 Office (Word) Hyperlink Dialog box, I cannot paste or
type a relative web address into it without it placing "mailto:" in front of
my link. If I try to delete the mailto: if puts it back and no I did not
click on the email link button. I want to enter a link such as
"\folder\folder\filename.pdf" so that the document with the link can be
placed onour Intranet in both test and production environments. We don't
want absolute links or we will not be able to test on our test server. We
have taught dozens of non-technical users to add relative links - if we
upgrade them to Office 2003 (most have 2000) we will end up with a bunch of
broken mailto links and very frustrated users. Is there another way to add a
hyperlink without the program trying to be "smart".
