Fix Rule Configuration Issue in Outlook 2007

G.V.K.CHAKRAVARTI

Hi
I am using Outlook 2007 at my Work place ACCENTURE, Hyderabad, INDIA.
While configuring the rules in outlook to capture the sent items I sent to
selected user I found the following issue as per the configuration, if I am
not mistaken

All the Items that are sent to that particular user aprt of the one which
I have sent are being shown in my outlook. This may be a security issue of
that user outlook. The configuration settings I used for this are as below

Step 1: Select Condition(s)
1. Check 'on this machine only'
2. Check 'sent to people or distribution list' ( Set the user
alias)
Step 2: Select action(s)
1. Check 'move it to the specified folder' (Set the folder)
Step 3: Select exception(s)(if necessary)
No exceptions checked

Now run the rule. Then you will see all items that are sent by you and
other users in the group visible in your system. This is some security issue.
So Chekc the condition set for this rule algorithm and validate the sending
alias also.

Thanks & Regards,

Yes, I am seeing mails sent by other users. Those mails having my alias in
CC. But it should not be in that folder. The folder I configure is only to
look the mails I sent to her. Even I did not set set any where clause in the
first step. So it doenot mean that I sent her if I was added in the CC list
of that mail.

Thanks,
KALYAN

Are you testing incoming or outgoing messages with this rule? On what folder
are you running it?

My testing is to store all the mails I sent to a alias in a seperate folder.
I created a personal folder and configured the rule as I described
previously. The intention is to store what ever mail I sent ot that
particular alias from my alias

You left out a step or two in your description, then. After opening the Rules
wizard and clicking New Rule, that did you do next?

I didn't ask a yes-or-no question, but I did misspell a word. :Let me ask
again: After opening the Rules
wizard and clicking New Rule, what did you click next?
