Fixed Allocation for Admin Work

Hello,

I have to add 3-4 days of work (8 hrs of admin work + 16-24 hrs of delay) to
80% of my tasks. Is there any benchmarked way of doing this, or do I need to
add this to every task?

Thank you,
Dip

Delay confuses me. Do you mean lag?

I do not recommend adding "Level of Effort" work to a schedule, but yes,
that would one the way to do it. But is the Admin work really 4 hours per
task or is it 4 hours per day?

Alternatively, you could add a single task with one admin assigned at 50%
(4hr/day) for the duratino of the project. If that is your approach you
should post back as there is another trick that will help you. Using this
method will hide your critical path since the task runs the duration of the
project, so I don't recommend that either.

What I do recommend is keeping all the level of effort work in a separate
project file. If you need to combine the two files for costing purposes,
establish a master and 2 subproject files (the real work, and the Level of
Effort work). Others have different opinions.

Hi,

You are right -- delay meaning "lag"!

your 2nd choice seems more close to my case.
25-50% would be a good number. But how do I assign this to the end (90%
completion) of the task?

Thanks,
Dip
