Fixed row heights

Is there a way to restrict the row height in a table. As
I have a report that has one colmun but several rows. I
want to stop the row heights increasing when they get
filled with text. BTH I am using Word XP.

Yes, there is. Select the desired rows. From the Table menu, choose
Table Properties. Click the Row tab. Check "Specify height" and type
the desired value. Make sure that "Row height is" is set to "Exactly",
and then click OK.

I think it's in the field area of the cell, you can
restrict the number of letters you type in the cell. Like
restricting to type only numbers, text, etc. You can
specific how long the text could be in that cell that
would restrict the lenght therefore not scrolling into
another row in the table. I hope by now you have already

Assuming that a text form field is used and the "Maximum length"
option is set, as soon as the document is protected for forms, the
user will be prevented from typing in more than a specified number of
characters.

But there is no way to prevent the user from pressing ENTER within the
form field. The only way to deal with that is to place the form field
in a table cell and specify a fixed height for the cell.
