Fixing Date in Template

MB

I have a letterhead template (modified from one provided with Word). Every
time I open a document created using this template, the date gets updated,
when I want it to preserve the original date. I know there is a way to fix
this, but I can't recall it. Anyone?

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like this is a field, and it's updating. You'll need to edit
the template and delete the field, replacing it by normal text. m.

Easy!
The date field wants to look something like { CREATEDATE \@
"dd-MMM-yyyy" }
(Not every one likes my mid-Atlantic date format, but it sure stops
confusion among right thinking evangelists and cheese-eating surrender
monkeys ;-) )

Toggle between result and source with opt-F9

Word won't immediately change the result after you have edited the
field 'source'. To force the update, select the field and hit F9.
