Fixing position of nav bar on web page

R

Richard Johnson

Hello again

This time hopefully an easier question.

I am re-arranging my problemmatic web pages.

When I try to add a simple 4 button Nav Bar to the bottom of the page, I
position it where I want it on the page in the PUB 2007 web publication but
it won't allow me to anchor it as either "exact" or "inline"

So....

When I do a web page preview, it appears a long way from the bottom of the
web page text (well below it)

I can manually move it by guesswork to place it on top of text within
publisher and it appears OK.... however this seems incredibly clumsy and I am
guessing will give different results in different browsers....

How do I anchor it simply and reliably page by page so it always appears
correctly relative to the end of content on each page (all pages have varying
length content)

thank you

I have been looking at your pub file and noticed that the font sizes are not
all web browser compatible.

There are some discussions around WYSIWYG on this forum.

I have experimented with the font size and paragraph settings for text and
have resolved a majority of the problems that I had which are similar to
what you are seeing ( I call it runaway text ). I have been using only
integer sizes and changed the line spacing to 1 and set the after paragraph
setting to 0. If you are unfamiliar with this area, highlight some text and
select <format <paragraph. Experiment with these setting and see if that
helps.

Then when I position the text boxes in publisher they appear nearly exactly
the same in the web browser. I still have some small differences but they
are manageable.

I forgot to add:

If this method works, create a style. When you select a text box with text,
click on the created style and the text box will be formatted for you. You
can have multiple styles.
