Fixing the .pst file - how to?

I inadvertently queued a large number of emails with large attachments
to send, and I think I blew the size of my .pst file. It is, I think,
exactly 2Gb.

I can't load Outlook. Well, to be more specific, I can load it, but
it almost immediately becomed non-functional. It won't respond. I
have tried loading Outlook on 2 different computers with the same .pst
file.

Is there any way to repair the .pst file? Any way to delete items
from the Outbox without actually loading Outlook? Or to empty the
Deleted Items folder? Every time I try to do that, again - Outlook
crashes.

Thanks in advance.

I hate to suggest this, but one thing you can possibly try is the truncate
utility for pst files.
The reason I hate suggesting it is you will lose some data, but not all of
it. Follow the instructions laid out in the article.

Look at the information in the following article: Oversized pst and ost crop
tool
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;296088

the tool can be downloaded from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FamilyID=B33B1DFF-6F50-411D-BBDF-82019DDA602E

My suggestion would be to make a backup copy of this pst. This is a good
recommendation for anyone about to work on a pst file they have information
in.

Good luck!
