Flashing Pictures in Word 2003

Hi -
I am creating user documentation using Word 2003 and I am including alot of
screen shots. The issue that I have is that periodically the file will get
locked up and I can't work on it because one or more of the inserted screen
shots is flashing on and off and I don't know how to make it stop. I am
hoping that someone else has also run into this situation and knows a
solution.

Could it be that a dialog box is open *behind* the application? I seem to
recall that the Norton AV Office Plug-in can cause dialog boxes to do this.
If using Norton AV, turn off its Office plug-in.
