Flesch-Kincade broken in Word 2008

O

ooshnoo

I've done this with 3 copies of Word 08 and about 15 different docs. Take a document and run the test on it in 2008; you'll get a near-100%/<2.0 grade level response for ANY document. Compare to Word 2004 and 2003 and you'll see the difference.

I can get by with the third party app Flesh, but has this bug been acknowledged by MS and is there a workaround until a fix is issued?

Correct, it's broken and they are investigating. Use Help | Send
Feedback in Word so that MS knows this bug is affecting you--it should
help increase the priority on it.

I suppose the only workaround would be to run the test in a different
version of Word.

Thanks for your report -- it's good to know. Well, for us, it is!

The bug is on the list. I am afraid we will have to wait for the "next"
update (no idea when...)

Cheers

And this is still broken in the 12.0.1 update. Lovely...

That's what I meant. :) I can't help the rest of the world say to each
other in person

what day is it?:

It the Eleventh day, of March 2008. (11-3-2008)

The only people that talk that way in the US are Lawyers and judges to
make them feel self important.

The proper way is November 3rd 2008 (11/3/2008). That's the way normal
people talk and write :-|

"Normal *Americans*", Phillip. The other 90 per cent of English-speakers in
the world do it from day through month to year, i.e. 11 March 2008.

It's an American oddity, and it can cause difficulties for people in other
countries who do not know this oddity exists.

Cheers,

I guess their is a reason for it, just seem pompous sounding to do it
that way. :)
