flexible durations????

Hi hope someone can help.
I am using 2003.
I have a task that needs to start 250d before its predecessor starts but,
needs to finish at the same time as its predecessor. How can i do this as i
cannot get 2003 to accept a SS with a FF for the same task.

Hi Andy,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

As you observe, you can only select one type of linking. The best I can
offer is to use a SS relationship with a 250 day lag. You must then
manually make the Duration of Task1 250 days plus the Duration of Task2.
You will then have to adjust the Duration of Task1 as well as Task2 if Task2
changes.
