Flickering Cursor in Word 2007

Folks,
I have a problem with Word 2007. The cursor flickers all of the time and it
makes working within a document very difficult. The cursor flickers as if
the system is switching between the processing circle and the arrow pointer.
This only happens in Word 2007 but no other parts of Office 2007 Professional.
Does anyone know of a solution please. I note from the Internet that others
are experiencing this problem as well.
My system is a Dell Dimension C521 with Windows Vista Home Basic Edition and
Microsoft Office 2007 Professional. Any help would be appreciated.

.... if you have Vista, and are using the Vista Aero visual theme - use one of
the Windows Standard or Windows Classic theme. That may do it - it solved
similar problems in other applications.
