I'm using Outlook 2003 on a laptop. I've got an intermittent fault.
Sometimes, the red flag on a message in the inbox starts flickering madly.
When this happens, the touchpad mouse doesn't work - I can physically move
the mouse around the screen, but tapping it doesn't work.
At the same time, this is causing problems in Word. The OVR button at the
bottom of the screen flashes frantically, and I then have the same problem
with the touchpad mouse. I can temporarily fix this problem by holding down
the shift key for a few seconds. Then everything is ok for a few minutes. I
can bring the problem on if I press the CTRL key.
Has anyone out there got any ideas? I've got AVG free, and it says there
are no viruses. I've tried resetting the touchpad settings, and adjusting
the sensitivity, but it doesn't change anything. I have buttons on the touch
pad, and they always work. Help!!
