Floor grid background

Create a background page and drop a series of vertical lines. Select all the
lines and align the tops. Group the lines and stretch the grouped shape to
cover the page and have the lines at 2' intervals. Copy the shape and rotate
90 degrees. Don't worry if the grid pattern exceeds the page, only the part
on the page will print.

Alternatively, create a scaled repeating fill pattern, ... 2 lines in an L
shape should do it. You can then use the fill pattern in any closed area.
