Floppy Access on File Open

Some Word documents that I open cause the floppy drive to activate, even
though the file is not located on the floppy drive nor has any reference
been made to the floppy drive (that I can tell). Does anyone know why this
happens ... and more importantly ... how to make it so that it doesn't
happen?!? Thanks in advance.
