floppy disk

Everytime I try to open a file on my floppy disk my
computer says that the disk is not formatted even though I
used the floppy disk in the same computer before. Is my
disk damaged?

The disk may not be "damaged" but the format is.

Do not ever, ever, ever attempt to open a Word document from a floppy, or
save one to a floppy. There's not enough room, and this kind of problem is
the result.

When Word has a file open, it temporarily needs at least twice (up to 24
times) the document size for its temporary files. A floppy can't hold that
much, so corruption such as you have now is the inevitable result.

Instead, always work with the document on the hard disk. Close the document
from Word, and then copy the file to or from a floppy and you won't get this
problem.

Hope this helps
