Floppy Speaks!

Anyone know...suddenly when I open a new Word document or
even a saved one my floppy drive makes a sound like it
does on bootup. Is there a setting?

Hi,
in order to get instant access to files previously
worked on, Word remembers these files and tries
to locate them. You have worked on the floppy
.... and you should not do that! The problem will
go away as time goes by. If you are impatient,
set extras, options, common, list of recently opened
files to 0. And later on to the previous value.
As I got a german version, i'm no sure about the
exact names of menu-items.
