folder could not be displayed ( Outlook express)

I have problems with opening inbox with following error
message:

FOLDER COULD NOT BE DISPLAYED

OUTLOOK COULD NOT OPEN THIS FOLDER

POSSIBLE CAUSES ARE:
- LOW DISK SPACE
- LOW MEMORY

I have 6123 messages stored. Pls advise what I can do to
get opened the folder without deleting any message at this
time, and to download the 106 new messages.
