folder language mix up on importing .pst in other language Outlook

Hi, I have imported my .pst file which I used before in a dutch language Outlook2000-version into an english version of Outlook2000 and now I have all the folders double, that is in two languages. I would like to continue working in english, so I emptied the messages in the dutch language folders to their english counterparts. My next step was to delete the emptied dutch folders, BUT gues what: these are not deletable (the delete option is simply not "clickable"). The funny thing is that the delete option for the english language folders IS "clickable", but those are the folders I want to keep. Any guidance in this issue is very welcome.
