I need some help. I know nothing about macros. But I need one that
I'm pretty sure will be fairly easy to create.
I have got a racing game that I play very oftain. Within this game's
top folder, there is a sub-folder that contains the different track
folders below it. Now, the game only recognizes around 90 track
folders within this sub-folder, and ignores the rest. I have aqcuired
several hundred tracks over the years. Currently, I keep 90 track
folders in this sub-folder, & I have created a 2nd & 3rd temp folder
that each contain 90 track folders. Think of them as "sets" of
tracks. When I want to run on a track that is not in the current
"active" sub-folder, I manually rename that folder to some temp name,
and rename the temp folder containing the track I want to run to what
the "active" folder's name should be, before starting my game.
Basically, I'm just swapping-out what the game would recognize as
track set. This works fine, but is aggrevating to do.
I would like a macro or .bat file that I can keep on my desktop that
will automatically toggle the renaming process thru all 3 of these
"sets", with each execution (one toggle for each click), to save me
the hassle of browsing and manually renaming.
In addition, it would be great if the macro could maybe even rename
itself to let me know what track set is currently "active" (i.e. Track
Set1, or Track Set2, etc.)
I got a .bat file to do what I wanted pretty easily with only 1 active
track folder, and 1 temp track folder. But when I try to get it to
work with more than 2, I'm pretty lost.
Anyone up to the challenge?
