Folders disappear from PST

I have a user who created a new folder inside of the PST
folder on her laptop, move several messages to the
folder, but can no longer find the folder or messages.
She has not deleted or renamed the folder, it just
disappears. One time it did come back after a reboot, but
the other two times it has not. User is running Outlook
2002 with SR-1, connects to Exchange Server via a dial-up
service, and uses offline folders to sync with the server.
