Folders disappeared!

Sherry

I'm using Outlook 2003 locally (no Exchange server) and have a bunch of
folders and sub-folders. The other day, I noticed a folder had
disappeared and didn't think too much about it because it wasn't one I
used that much any more anyway.

Today, after working about 3 hours answering emails (I do email tech
support from home), I went to move an email to my "sent support" folder
and it was GONE, as were all the sub-folders and another folder that
wasn't under the "sent support" folder.

My first thought was that I might have accidentally dragged and dropped
them inside another folder - no such luck.

I ran ScanDisk, Inbox Repair Tool and Detect & Repair to no avail.
Inbox Repair tool did identify and fix a lot of errors (I have the
log), but nothing about my missing folders!

These *are* critical folders, unlike the one that disappeared the other
day.

Any clue as to where my folders could have gone to or how I might
retrieve them? I'm really hesitant to use Outlook at this time,
although my work is mounting up on me.

I do have a backup from Saturday, but I did so many emails (probably
about 50 replies) this morning and have a gazillion emails that I
didn't reply to yet that I don't want to totally restore my inbox.

I do have a laptop that I can restore the backup to and move the
missing folders from there on over to my PC, but now I'm scared to
death this will happen again! I swear, after this experience, I'll
probably start backing up every hour rather than at the end of the day
<g>

TIA for any help you can give me!

Sherry
