folders disappeared

I've been using OneNote for about a month and really like it. I tried to open
it up from my desktop today and it said there are no folders. After searching
my computer in a panic, I found my folders in my backup section of my
computer. Why would my OneNote folders just disappear? At least everything I
had on it is on my backup (whew!) but it's pretty hard to keep everything
organized. Any suggestions on why this happened and what I can do to avoid it
happening again? Thanks!

When you say "folders" were missing, were these:

Notebooks
Section Groups
Sections
Pages

What exactly did it say when it said "there are no folders".

Is it possible that your notebooks had just been "closed" and you needed to
go to "file" "open ... " "notebooks" , and then navigate to your my
documents\OneNote Notebooks directory? (just trying the easiest possibility
here)
