Hi out there,

I have written a small addin that copies folder properties in OL 2003
(mechanism like goto source folder -> get properties (folder.view) ->
goto destination folder -> set properties).

One of my users uses OL 2003 on one computer, and Ol 2000 on another.
After using the addin in 2003, when he uses 2000, he gets an error
message when navigating to a folder which was the target- folder of
the abovementioned operation.
The Error message is: "This view is damaged, instead the standard-view
will be used" The error does not appear when the auto-preview of the
folder is deactivated.
Any Ideas how to fix that?

Our workaround is Exchange 5.5

Not only do Outlook views have additional information that Outlook 2000
views don't have and that Outlook 2000 doesn't understand, but there are
other problems when you access the same mailbox using Outlook 2003 and 2000.

Outlook 2003 adds an additional field to the 3 in Outlook 2000 for free/busy
information and if you run Outlook 2000 on a mailbox after running Outlook
2003 on the same mailbox Outlook usually can't exit completely. The fix for
that is to start Outlook 2000 with the /cleanfreebusy switch.

In addition, make sure your Exchange 5.5 has all the latest updates related
to use with Outlook 2003 or problems can occur with your Exchange data
stores.
