Folders Missing when using file open dialog box

Hi All

We are using Office XP on Windows XP PCs.

When one of the typists tries to open a new word document
using the file open dialog box, some of the folders are
missing.

e.g. We have folder named "desmonda" and then the next
folder in the list is "munrol" and all the rest of
the "desmond*" folders are not visable.

Has anybody had this problem before ?

If the user log on using a different PC, can she see the folders? If someone
else logs onto her PC, can they see the folders?

This sounds like a damaged user profile.
