Folders query in Outlook 2003

In Outlook Express whenever you open it up it automatically opened folders
that had unread messages in them regardless of whether you have closed the
folders the last time you were in Outlook Express.

This is great, but how do you set up Outlook 2003 to do the same thing? I
have to keep opening up the folders every time.

outlook 2003 should open folders when rules move new messages to them but
we're seeing problems with some accounts, especially exchange server. what
kind of account and server are you using?

That works fine, but I close Outlook and open it up and all the folders
close regardless of whether they have unread messages in them or not, such a
pain. :-(

I think I'll have to go back to OE as this rate. :-(

My accounts are POP3, I have one IMAP and 2 HTTPMail accounts, but I'm not
worried about them (though it would be nice for them to be open when I open
Outlook).

Is it because I've exported my messages and folders from OE to Outlook?
Should I just start from scratch and create a new PST and new folders (and
hope it all works).

I don;t think exporting makes a difference - it should work the same
regardless of how the folders where first populated.

Apart from that importing in Outlook doesn't import dates and times for the
messages?

Outlook imports the dates, it just doesn't display them correctly. :)

Did you use Import in Outlook or Export from OE? I read "exported my
messages and folders from OE to Outlook" as doing the export from OE. If you
used Import in Outlook, it's certainly well worth trying an export from OE -
the received dates will be correct if you export from OE. Messages imported
will have the same modified date, so you can sort by the modified date and
delete them.

I did export, but it's obviously not exported ALL my messages. :-(
