Follow a link

David

I use Word 2002 under Windows XP Professional.
When I click a link, I have no problem to follow the
link. Yet, I don't know how to return back to the
original location in my text.
In older versions of Word I clicked a left pointing arrow
button and got back to the original location. But, I
don't find such button in my Word 2002.
Can you help?

Thanks,
David

Normally when you start following links the Web toolbar is displayed. It
sounds like that toolbar is not displaying. To display this toolbar either
select View menu | Toolbars | Web or my favorite is to right click on any
toolbar and select Web.

If the Web toolbar is displayed but the back button is not on the toolbar:
click on the down arrow on the right end of the Web toolbar and select Add
and Remove buttons | select Web | finally select Reset toolbar.

The Web toolbar is not displayed automatically in Word 2002 (probably in
response to user demand), but Shift+F5 should take you back where you
started.

Hi,

I use Word 2000, but I suspect that you can also use Alt+ left arrow to go
back to the hyperlink.

This key combination also works for IE, (actually I use this key combo in IE
long before I know about and use it in Word) and is very handy when browsing
pages.
