Follow-up to missing DL contacts

Liz

Thanks for your response (see 10/10/08)! It was suggested that I recreate my
contacts from a past mailing of the DLs and using autocompletion to get the
addys.. I do have those mailings, and the contacts do show up when I expand
the list . GREAT!!! This is a VERY good thing! My question now is, how do I
break the addresses up? I tried to copy/paste into excel but they all went
into a single cell (which I assumed they would). My various DLs add up to be
about a rough 500 addresses, so, I'd prefer a shot at breaking them up
somehow as opposed to copying the lists into word and then seperating each
addy with a new line break.
Also, you asked if I had transferred or migrated my data at some point. The
answer is no, not at all. Literally, the addys were there the last time I
used the DLs, and now the DLs are there but no contacts within. Can you
(still) help?
Thanks SO much!

Not sure why you needed to multipost.
DL's of 500 are just a recipe to for trouble. DL's are neither reliable nor
robust. No one I know uses a DL with more than just a few recipients for
that reason. You should look into reliable ways to group recipients, like
Categories or separate Contact subfolders.

Thanks, Russ.. I did follow the link you provided someone else with (so
kindly, I might add) in re to using categories, etc. to group recipients.
Good information I'm sure to utilize. I double posted thinking perhaps my
follow-up would get lost in the dust of yesterdays as can happen on many
other thread-oriented sites. If there is anyone else out there who may be
able to answer my question about breaking up the recipient list in the To:
field, so that I may use them as seperate contacts, it would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks.

Then clarify your question. You can easily break down a DL by copying select
members into another DL.
