Following Development

I am developing an application in Access 2003. I am
looking for an easy, simple, way to track and record the
changes, versions, etc. that is made during this
development. Can somone recommend a form, process or
program to be used to track this process?

There are a number of products (and methodologies) designed to make it
possible to track the development process.

There are a number of "easy, simple" programs.

I'm not aware of any overlap between these two categories <g>!

How many developers will be working on this? The custom tool applications
for project tracking are based on the assumption that you will have teams of
developers who could "clobber" each other's work if not properly managed.

How frequently do things change? If you are the sole developer and make
backups of each day's work, is that a sufficient "trail"?

What aspects of your development do you want to be able to track? If only
the whole application, see previous.

To whom do you need to report your tracking, and in what format(s) and how
often? The more different types (CEOs, IS Directors, Project Managers),
more formats, and more frequently, the more likely you are to need one of
the high-powered tools.

Are you ready to keep hand-written notes in a "spiral" notebook yet?! <g>!
