Font and text issues

Version: v.X
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I'm creating a design template now, and have encountered a few problems when it comes to pasting text into a document using the template.

First of all, when pasting text into the document (without having a text box selected) it doesn't pay any attention to the preset text formatting I've done in the slide master - even though I ticked of the "default for new objects" box.

Secondly I'm having problems finding how to make the text automatically re-size to fit within the box. Every time I paste text which is longer than the box it just re-sizes the box so the text falls off the slide.

Kind regards,
Nico

Hi Nico;

I don't have v.X available to test & can't remember for sure, but this is
what I see based on 2004:

If you don't select a Text Box or AutoShape to paste into PPt creates a
Microsoft Word Document Object when you simply "paste". The default settings
for Shapes don't apply to them. If you use Edit> Paste Special - Unformatted
Text or Styled Text instead you may get what you're looking for.
Secondly I'm having problems finding how to make the text automatically
re-size to fit within the box. Every time I paste text which is longer than
the box it just re-sizes the box so the text falls off the slide.

PPt 2004 does not have that option so I would imagine that prior versions
lack it as well. The setting for "Resize Text to Fit Shape" wasn't added in
Mac PPt until the 2008 version.
Kind regards,
Nico
