Font buttons close Word 2000.

When using Word 2000 (fully SP'd)if I click on a FONT
toolbar button (Bold, Ital etc) Word closes. This is also
happening in Wordpad.

I've resinstalled Win2000 as well as complete removal and
reinstall of Office 2000.

I've tried deleting Normal.doc, ran the command prompt
startup winword.exe/a to no avail.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
