Font changes size

I'm merging from Excel in Word 2002 and my document is in 11pt but my "Dear"
field changes to 10pt. I have tried formating the merge field to 11pt but
it changes as soon as I skip to the next record.

Try a charformat switch eg {Mergefield Dear \*charformat}

I realised the styles was switched on in Word for the line the field was on
so by clearing the format in styles it worked a charm.
