font changing when i reply to an email

whenever i hit reply to an email the reply window pops up with a font so tiny
i can't read it and the font change options are greyed out so i can't change
it. my standard options are set to a standard font....this just started
happening...i have been emailing most of the afternoon with no problem then
suddenly i was typing a response hit <shift>D to do an upper case D and
suddenly everything went small. I've restarted Outlook with the same result.

I don't know what is going on either....I started having the exact same
problem today. I have gone in and checked all my settings for my incoming and
outgoing messages and when I try to reply or forward, everything goes to
"tiny".....HELP US SOMEONE!!!!

in fact i sent one of these 'tiny' emails as a test to myself and it comes
through normal size.....it's just once i hit reply to something it's too
small to read what i'm replying to and what i'm typing......the font settings
show times new roman and 11 and that's what its coming through as when i
send........so it's something to do with my view reply panel......

Very smart to send a test to yourself...makes sense that it is in the view
reply....please let me know if you figure it out. I've been working on it
for over an hour...so I have to take a break now....before I toss my computer
off my deck! Thanks so much.

ok i solved my problem....it was the zoom setting....?????

My mouse can adjust zoom so try this........hit reply on an email so you get
the tiny font....if you have one of those little wheels on your mouse hold
down control and scroll the wheel......for me it worked and then I tried
opening another email and hit reply it was automatically at the higher zoom
level.

Not sure which version of Outlook you're using but, if you don't have a
mouse with a wheel, you should be able to find a zoom setting somewhere in
your mail format menu (I have Outlook 2007 and it's on the format text
tab....again, once you chage it once it should automtically apply to all
future messages.

Found something in another discussion group. It says, "Sounds like you're
using Word as your email editor and you've modified the zoom factor in Word
to lower than 100%." In Word, View, Zoom, and see if it is set at
100%.....any luck?

GREAT! I will have to see if my problem is solved tomorrow. My complication
is that I am "teaching" my 88 year old father-in-law to use Outlook. We are
in different states....I am helping him remotely with LogMeIn software.....so
I will have to check in with him tomorrow and see if this will fix "our"
problem...I'll bet it will. His big hard-working hands are doing really
crazy things with that little mouse!! Thank you so much for sharing. I will
post tomorrow night after I see if this works. Thanks again.

Thank you!!!! I've been having the same problem for awhile now, and the zoom
setting was the problem. I have Outlook 2003, and the way to set the zoom
without using the mouse is to reply to an email to bring up the reply window,
then select Zoom from the View menu. Change the zoom back to 100%, click OK
and it will be saved for future replies.
