I noticed the following quirky behavior in Word 2008.
1. Create a new blank document.
2. Insert some text, select that text, and set the color to a theme color.
I chose Black from the theme color palette.
3. Save the document as a Word 97-2004 document (.doc)
4. View the file on a Windows machine running Word 2003 and the text you
just entered is now yellow.
Okay, I understand themes aren't supported in earlier versions and
compatibility mode turns off the Theme palette when editing a .doc file, but
theme colors are still visible and can be selected even in compatibility mode
and color problems can continue when new text is added and theme colors are
selected.
Other than never using theme colors, is there any way to avoid this problem?
