Font Disappeared when I Upgraded!

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

I recently installed Word 2008, and have discovered that the font Geometric 415, which is installed on my computer, is apparently not available to it. I have always used it in Word 2004, and have to continue using 2004 just to access the font.

Did Microsoft muck around with font compatibility or something? Or am I missing something very basic?

Help with this problem will be most appreciated,

If you bring up the Format | Font dialog, and look at the fonts in that
teeny weeny listing, is Geometric 415 listed?

Also, there is a 12.1 and a 12.1.1 update you should install, which
might help with some font issues. Run Help | Check for Updates and
re-run it until it reports nothing to install.
