I just upgraded to Entourage 2008 on a new Intel Mac. I'm using Extensis Suitcase Fusion to handle my font activation on the computer. When I try to change fonts using the font pull down menu in Entourage my font list is not arranged as it used to be in Office 2004 and X. Some fonts, which I know are activated in other applications on the computer, are not listed. Others are only listed by their type such as Medium, Light, Book or Condensed with no mention of what font they are until you actually select them. Has anyone seen this behavior or know what is causing it?

If you go to Entourage menu --> Preferences... --> General Preferences
--> General, do you have "WYSIWYG font menu" enabled? If so, disable it
to remove Entourage's effect on the menu.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the suggestion. I had WYSIWYG turned off, but they still don't
list with complete font names. I can send screen shots if you like. (Wish they had a way to attach them here.) With WYSIWYG turned off some fonts are listed simply as Engraved, Book, Ultra, Black, Condensed,
Demi, Casual, Medium, Bold Oblique, etc. All my Helvetica fonts show with their style numbers in front of them, but it doesn't say Helvetica in the font name. The others I have to guess at. If I turn WYSIWYG on I can at least see what they look like and know which one I'm selecting, but I'm not sure why Entourage is not grouping the fonts in their families. What's interesting is that it doesn't do this in my other Office products. Word groups them by family, but not totally alphabetically. For some reason the ITC brand fonts and a few others are coming up in the A's rather than where they should fall alphabetically. They do this in Excel and PowerPoint as well. I can deal with that, but the fonts just appearing with no names is a bit of a pain.
