I am in the Asian country. While transferring the Office xp 2000 doc files to
the European countriy, the font size of the documents differs. i.e. here i
set the font size 8 points but it came out to be different in European coutry
from the value that i have set.
then i again downloaded the same doc files that i have transferred and
opened it in Office xp 2000. here again it showed the font size 8 points.
we could not figure it out where the problem is. will you plz. send the
answer as soon as possible?

i don't know the size of the font that the recepient is getting. those doc
files were checked by the QC-software of the BPO industry. that QC-software
generated error log and in every file it showed " Font size error ".
as i have written before, when i opened the same files in office xp 2000,
the font size is still 8. here i don't have any office service pack installed
in my computer. i am using OS window 2000 xp and OCR software Finereader 7.0.

Hi Kavi,

Is the recipient using Word 2000 or another package to open
the file?

Do you know what fontname and encoding you're using? The
recipient may not have the same font available or be setup
for additional language support.

i don't know whether the recepient is using Word 2000 or not . their Qc
software detects the font but there is only problem in the font size.
we are using the font Time New Roman and i don't have knowledge about
"encoding"

If they aren't using Word, then there's no telling what the problem is. Any
time you try to convert a file into another format, you can't be 100%
certain that the results will be identical to the native format. And since
you are sending files to another continent, there may be differences in the
OSs as well. I see LOTS of chances for something to get screwed up. Has this
EVER worked correctly for the two of you?

Hi Kavi,

At this point I'd suggest that you contact the other party
for some additional information the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)
industry in India is very large and it could be that it's not the
size of the font that's incorrect but that you're specifying an
unexpected size.

There are too many variables and unknowns at this point, including
what QC software and test they're running to do more than guess with
the information you've provided.
