Font on chart layout defaults to previousfont after closing presentation despite saving

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I created a slide layout using the 2 chart content. After inputting all the data and reformatting to my liking I saved it and closed. However, when I reopened the file, the font on the data labels on the 2nd slide has defaulted to the previous font....but the rest of the document is still correct.
