font optimization

F

Frustrated

When I launch Word application the font optimization has a problem with a
large number of my installed fonts and it takes almost 30 minutes to fully
start up. I have to keep selecting OK on each font it has a problem with.

Is there a way to turn off font optimization? Or any other fix without
removing the offending fonts as they work in all my other programs and I use
them often.

Chances are, that's a corrupt Font Cache:

It will tell you how to deal with that here:
http://word.mvps.org/Mac/CorruptFontErrors.html

Note: That was written for Office 2004, you do the same thing in 2008
(Delete the Office and System caches) but they have a different file name
and location: use Spotlight to find them).

Once you have deleted, you MUST reboot before starting any Microsoft Office
applications.

Cheers
