Font override

My default font, mail merge document and source data base
are all Arial 14. I started a new mail merge document,
inserted mail merge fields and when I do the mail merge
the mm fields become Courier New 15. This is a font I
have never used and I can't get rid of it. When I change
the font back to Arial 14 and go to the next record the mm
fields change to Courier New 15. Is this a virus, program
error or user error?

Hi Milco,

Odd things like this happen. Usually, it is a problem with
the default font setting; may be you need to regenerate your
Normal.dot template and your Word DATA key...

anyway, you can force the issue by displaying the field codes
(Alt+F9) and using the \* CharFormat switch at the end of
every field. Alt+F9 again to turn off the field code display.

Note that if you see \* MergeFormat in the fields that this
could also be the original cause of the misbehavior.
