Font Problem P.S.

I¹ve tried trashing the program and reinstalling MS Office but when I access
Word, it gets to ³Optimizing Font Menu² and then quits ­ offers to send a
report. So this Optimizing Font Menu is the problem.

Instead of trashing the program, run the Remove Office tool. Do that now,
then try reinstalling again.

Sounds like you have corrupt fonts--they can be fixable without a remove and
reinstall but it's best to clean out your system first as incompletely
trashing Office can cause problems.

If, *after* doing the removal and reinstallation, you're still having these
font problems, post back. As Daiya said, it could be corrupt fonts, but it
could also be munged font cache files. The removal will get rid of the
Office font cache file but there are other system font cache files that
could be involved. Anyway, post back.
