Font problem yet again

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: intel

Hi there,
my problem is that I can't change the font from NTR. Tried all the ways mentioned on the forum.

1 Format/Font/ change to Verdana/click default

2 Format/Style/Normal/Modify...

NTR stays put.

Funny thing is that when I do step no. 2 Verdana is displayed as default but when I close the dialog I see NTR again...

Please, does anyone know what else I could try?

You replaced your normal template? Getting rid of any old versions from
previous versions of Word?
