font problem

i am having trouble with the font menu in word v.X for mac.
when i select, for example, "Arial" as my font, a different font shows up
in the font name field, and i can only type in that font, not Arial. any
way to fix this?

Hi Pink,

First make sure your OS is fully updated (to 10.2.8, although 10.2.3 was
supposed to fix this problem). If that doesn't do it, quit all office apps,
trash your Microsoft Office Font Cache, then reboot to rebuild the OS X font
cache. The MS Font Cache will be re-created when you start up again.
