I've created a template in word but I've not been offered the option to change the size of the lettering. How do I get this to happen?

I'm not totally following your question--if you created a template, then
documents created from the template will use the same font size that's
in the template, so you change it exactly the same way you would in any
document--select text and change the size. If there is no text in your
template, you can select the invisible paragraph mark and format that.

If that doesn't do it, describe your template a bit, how you intend to
use it, and what happens that you don't like when you do use it, and
what you want to happen instead.

Also, you know what? The OS version number really is important. Please
give it.

Set the sizes you want in the Styles that you are using.

What are the names of the styles you are using in the template?
