Font smoothing can't be turned OFF?

Entourage 2004 displays fonts in the folder view pane in mixed non-aliased
and aliased font. I have everything below 12 pts turned off on my Mac and I
really don't like the fuzzy look of small type in any application. There
seems to be no way to turn this OFF? This seems to be some kind of a bug.
Running the latest Panther 10.3.4.
