Fonts don't show in pptPlex

I've changed fonts on my section headers and slides in pptPlex, but when I
show the presentation everything seems to be in Arial, both on the canvas and
when I zoom in on the individual slides. I love the idea of pptPlex, but not
if the fonts are going to be plain vanilla. Help?

Hey Kathy,

I've justed started using PPTPlex myself, so I know there is a bit of a
learning curve.

I haven't run into the problem that you describe, but I would suggest that
you send Office Labs this information. When you open the PPTPlex tab on the
ribbon, in the Office Labs Prototype group, click Give us Feedback.

When you describe your issue, try to provide step-by-step how you arrived
there. I know they'll appreciate the feedback and may have some suggestions
for you.

Eric asked how I created my presentation. I used one of the pptPlex canvas
backgrounds and customized with my own background art. I also moved the box
that shows all the slides. I created section head slides and regular slides
and then changed the fonts on those slides. Everything works when I view the
presentation except that the altered fonts do not display--everything seems
to be in Arial (or something similar).

I can't tell from Eric's answer whether he has tried changing fonts on
slides or is just using the default font. So before spending much more time
investigating, I still need to know if fonts that have been changed on
individual slides (as opposed to on the master slides--I haven't tried that)
WILL show in a pptPlex presentation. Thanks!

Kathy,

I don't recall asking how you created your presentation - you noted in your
first post that you are using PPT Plex.

I do see that I suggested that you contact Office Labs directly. I urge you
again to do so. PPT Plex is something that they are working to refine, and
they dearly value customer input.

Also, I tested the situation you described by changing the font on the
canvas slide, the section divider slides, and the slides after the section
dividers. I was able to do so without any problem - I changed the font from
default Arial to Algerian, and they maintained the Algerian formatting when I
viewed the slide show. I was able to zoom and pan across the canvas, and all
the text maintained the Algerian font.

Note: I was using the "Breakdown" canvas.

What font are you trying to change the text to? That might make a difference
as well. Check out Steve Rindsberg's article:

Troubleshoot font problems
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00402.htm

I have noted some oddities in PPT Plex depending on the number of times that
you have run the slideshow. Right now, I've had the best luck with making all
formatting changes before I view a presentation in slideshow. It's a
workaround, but at least you'll get a font other than Arial!

Thanks, Eric. You had asked how I arrived at my issue--that's what I meant in
saying you'd asked how I created my presentation (meaning, my presentation
using pptPlex).

I did intend to contact Office Labs; just wanted to be sure first that what
I want to do is even possible. You've confirmed for me that fonts can be
changed on the slides and the changes should then appear in pptPlex, and
that's what I was wondering. Now that I know they can, I will follow up with
them if I can't get it to work on a second try.

I also appreciate getting the font troubleshooting link. The fonts are
installed on my computer, so I doubt that's the problem, but it's worth
checking out.

Thanks for your help!
