Fonts for symbols

Sheldon

I am a new Word 2002 user, and would appreciate help with
the following problem.

I am in the process of converting hundreds of documents
from WordPerfect to Word 2002, using the Batch Conversion
wizard. Our documents contain numerous instances of greek
symbols, which need to appear in Times Roman font. The
rest of the document appears in Arial. When I convert the
documents, I lose the Times Roman font for all the symbols
and they default to Arial. Even worse, all the text after
the symbol changes to Century Gothic.

I tried writing a macro in Word to find and replace every
instance of the alpha character, then every beta character
etc. and change the font to Times Roman for each, but it
doesn't work. I have written over a hundred macros in VBA
which actually work, but this one is really stumping me.

Can anyone help? Many thanks.

Hi Sheldon,

Instead of struggling with macros, why not select the errant text (or the
whole document with Ctrl-A) and apply TNR text formatting?

Cheers
